Generally:
University classes are 50-55 minutes in length.
Some classes may be two or more slots based on space and scheduling and the needs of the instructor.
Individuals are encouraged to teach 2-3 classes per day so that they may enjoy the university.

Class descriptions should be sent by e mail or by using the online teacher registration database (when it's completed). Descriptions can also be sent by USPS.

Tracks are highly encouraged. A track is a series of classes on a particular topic that is usually scheduled sequentially in the same room.
Assume that if you register to teach or request to be added onto the schedule, you will be. A confirmation will be sent out approximately one month before the event. You are asked to inform the Chancellor, deputies and autocrat if you are unable to attend or teach.
Every effort will be made to give you the classes you requested however it's not always possible to include everyone and every topic. Please register your classes with a preference to teach (#1 choice, #2 choice, etc)
Full class descriptions, teacher bios and schedule will be on web site.
For Fighters classes (rapier, combat archery, thrown weapons, and siege weapons), you must have a warranted Marshall available if you plan to engage others in fighting.

Include the following in a class proposal:
Title of the class. (Please avoid using "101" and other mundane cliches.)
SCA name(s) of teacher(s), with titles if you wish.
Brief description of the class.

Time length.

Enrollment limit, if any.
Materials fee, if any, and what it pays for.
Special needs: space, tables, equipment, electric, water, Marshals.
Your contact information (email or phone).

Deadlines:
Class bids are due no later than 2 months before the EKU session.
Bids received after the deadline may be scheduled if space is available or cancellations are received.

Expect in my response:
Reply to original bid.
Class time/space agreement.
Post to EKU website.

How I select classes for EKU:
First come, first serve based on the theme (if any) of the University.
Popularity (Does this class always fills up?).
Dependability of teacher.

While at the event:
Register at the EKU table when you arrive.
Pick up class roster if you have a set attendance limit.
End class on time.

Keep your classroom neat; tidy up when you are done.

Food for thought:
Keep classes concise. You lose your audience if your class is too vague.
Have fun. Keep them entertained and interested.
Hands-on topics are highly encouraged.

Put student limits on your class if you need to focus more intensely on the subject matter.

Do not go broke for your class. It is acceptable to ask for a stipend fee to cover costs of handouts and materials. Be fair to yourself and your students.
New teachers are encouraged. You do not have to be an expert in your subject to teach, only willing to share what you know.
If you must cancel, please do so as early as you possibly can so that I can place another teacher in your time frame. Please call me if you are going to cancel up to the night before. Often I have an emergency wait list available.
Frequent and multiple cancellations will cause me to schedule others before I place your class. First priority will always be given to the dependable teacher.
